FDA takes third in golf match at Lagoon Park

The Fort Dale Academy golf team participated in the second tournament of the season Thursday at Lagoon Park in Montgomery, posting a 338 to take third place overall out of eight teams.
Lee-Scott Academy took the win with a 307.
Individually for the Eagles, Ben Bates shot a team-low 79, followed by Cam Norman with an 84, Sanders Hancock with an 85 and Davis Watts with a 90.
In the first match of the season, the Eagles defeated Monroe Academy and Escambia Academy in a tri-match in Monroeville March 19.
Fort Dale’s team score was 324, followed by Escambia with a score of 384 and Monroe with a score of 396.
Davis Watts was the medalist with a score of 78.
Cam Norman was second with a 79, followed by Ben Bates with an 81, Sanders Hancock with an 86 and Shanks Simmons with an 89.
Fort Dale will return to action April 5 as they travel to Marion to take on Marion Institute at 8:30 a.m.
