Luverne Health and Rehab's employees celebrated Doctor Patrick Walker's 60th birthday with a party in the main dining room of the facility on Thursday, March 22, 2007, at 4 p.m.

Walker, who is the facility's Medical Director, was surrounded by staff wearing &#8220Happy Birthday” scrubs, and many of the facility's residents were also on hand to help him celebrate.

Others present were Northport Health Services Regional Director, Gail Bimbo; Regional Nursing Consultant, Sara Thompson; Administrator, Julie Richburg and Regional Marketing Director Jackie Richburg.

Walker's staff and family were also present.

Doctor and Mrs. Sandy Walker thrilled the crowd by dancing to music from the fifties and sixties.

The Walkers twirled around the room to the applause of the crowd.

Walker also did a spontaneous strut and stomp rendition of an old rock and roll tune with dietary employee Samantha Hamilton to the cheers of onlookers.

The party was hosted by R.N. Unit Supervisor Sharon Johnson, along with other administrative staff.

Walker's favorite cake, coconut, was baked especially for the occasion by Betty Killough, whose mother is a resident at the facility.

The large birthday cake was served along with punch and an assortment of other party foods.

A specially decorated table held gifts for Walker from the staff.

An elated Walker left the party for the E.R. at 5 p.m., but he remarked to the staff that they sure knew how to throw a party.

Rumor has it that Walker's birthday celebration might become an annual event at Luverne Health and Rehab.
