For the second time this season, the Fort Dale Academy tennis teams swept the Crenshaw Christian Academy Cougars Tuesday, 14-0.

In individual boys action, Andrew Jones defeated Michael Jackson 6-0, 6-3, Stephen Butts defeated Dylan Carr 6-0, 6-2, Logan Ausderau defeated Ethan Andrews 6-2, 6-4, Sean McKeague defeated David Garrison 6-1, 6-0 and David Foshee defeated Wesley Ballard 6-0, 6-2.

In doubles action, Jones and Butts defeated Jackson and Andrews 8-3 and Ausderau and Foshee defeated Carr and Garrison 8-0.

The play of both Jones and McKeague has improved, Fort Dale head coach Johnny Mac Brown said, and he credits their progression to the dedication they put into practice.

&#8220Sean McKeague has played really well, especially being a first-year player, and he's such a hard worker,” Brown said. &#8220And if I could get everybody, both girls and boys, to work as hard as Andrew, we could have something special.”

&#8220This next Tuesday (against Morgan Academy) should be a good match for Andrew but he'll work hard to get ready,” he added.

In girls' action, Whitney Jacks defeated Danielle Welch 6-0, 6-0, Renee Scott defeated Kristen Carver 6-4, 6-0, Elizabeth Dunklin and Mary Margaret Williams 6-0, 6-0, Kayla Butts defeated Lakan Beck 6-0, 6-0 and Ulli Sandstrom defeated Daisye Williams 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles action, Jacks and Butts defeated Welch and Beck 8-2 and Scott and Dunklin defeated Carver and Williams 8-1.

Brown said both Scott and Dunklin have been working extremely hard in practice and the results are being seen on the court.

The Eagles travel to Morgan Academy Tuesday at 3 p.m., and Brown knows his team is in for a tough match.

&#8220After the Lee-Scott match, I think the girls have relaxed a bit,” Brown said. &#8220We've gotten better, but we'll know next week how much they want to get into it.”
