In a marathon game Tuesday night, the Greenville Tigers came up just short of the Dallas County Hornets in 11 innings, 7-6.

The Tigers and the Hornets also played in an extra-inning game the first time around March 30.

After the Tigers scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to send the game into extra innings, neither team scored for three innings, setting up for a wild finish.

The Hornets led off the top half of the 11 inning with three runs, but the Tigers were determined not to quit.

With Stephen Croley on second and Demarcus Robinson on first base after each being hit by a pitch, the Tigers brought the two runners around but could not manage to bring in the tying run, thus ending the game with two runners stranded on base.

Offensively for the Tigers, Ryan Smith was 2-for-4 with two RBI's and a run scored, Lynn Lewis was 1-for-6 with a homerun, Cordez Peagler was 1-for-1 with a double and an RBI and Demarcus Robinson was 1-for-4 with a run scored.

Josh Longmire, Casey Weston and Zac Smith also each had a hit while Hunter Harrell finished with an RBI.

For Dallas County, Mike Bruno, Jacob Paxton, Tyler Hollis, Alan Anthony, Matt Ross and Andrew Harrison each finished with a run scored.

The Tigers will return to action Tuesday as they travel to take on the Andalusia Bulldogs at 5 p.m.
