Behind the steady play of Davis Watts and Ben Bates, the Fort Dale Academy golf team shot down the Hooper Academy Colts Thursday afternoon at the Greenville Country Club, 318-358.
Watts and Bates each shot a 77 to pace the Eagles.
“Ben and Davis have been playing really well,” Fort Dale head coach Reggie Mantooth said Thursday. “Both are capable of shooting around par.”

Fort Dale will travel to Sparta Academy in Evergreen Monday for a tri-match against Sparta and Wilcox Academy.
Greenville downs Brewbaker Tech, 347-348
Brandon Croley shot a match-low 60 Thursday as the Greenville High School golf team downed Brewbaker Tech by one stroke in an 18-hole short course match, 347-348.
“I thought Brandon Croley played really well,” Greenville head coach Josh McLendon said. “He has been solid for us all year.”
Adam Braden was next for the Tigers with 93, followed by Tyler Clark with a 96, Jeremy Booker with a 98 and Brandon Boyett with a 99.
For Brewbaker Tech, Josh Overby shot a team-low 65, followed by Justin Freeman with an 85, Lewis Moore with a 90 and Quentin Kennedy and Courtney Jenkins each with a 108.
“It was a great day to play and I am glad we got to play the short course,” McLendon said. “That is where we practice, so our guys were familiar with the course.”
The Tigers will return to action Tuesday as they travel to Montgomery's River Run Course for an 18-hole match beginning at 3 p.m.
The Tigers will return home to take on the Charles Henderson Trojans Thursday at Cambrian Ridge short course at 2 p.m.
“I am looking forward to next week with Charles Henderson,” McLendon said. “Maybe we can compete with them since we will be on our home course.”
