uniform surveys until April 25

The Crenshaw County Public School System is currently looking into all of the issues surrounding students wearing school uniforms beginning with the 2007-2008 school year.

On Tuesday, April 10, an open forum was held at the Luverne High School gym for anyone who wished to speak openly about the subject. On that particular night, approximately 100 parents and students came, with only 13 adults signing up to speak.

On April 4, a letter from Schools' Superintendent Kathi Wallace was given to each school to be given out to students and taken home to parents announcing the open forum at LHS and also asking for parental input on this very important issue.

Parents need to know that they can still fill out the school uniform surveys at their child's school. The surveys will be available until Wednesday, April 25.

The School Uniform Committees will be meeting once more before the school uniform issue goes before the Crenshaw County Board of Education at its May 21 meeting.
