Blood is life.
Just a few minutes of your time can mean a lifetime of new tomorrows for someone in need of a blood transfusion.
Your chance to help is right around the corner when LifeSouth teams up with Crenshaw Community Hospital at their Relay for Life on Friday, April 27.
Look for the bloodmobile at E. L. Turner Park between the hours of 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.
All donors will receive a recognition item and complimentary cholesterol screening.
Donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh 110 pounds or more and show photo identification at the time of donation.
For more information about becoming a donor, call toll-free (888) 795-2707 or visit www.lifesouth.org.
“You can save a life,” said Bonnie Trotter, chairperson for the drive.
“Please come by and take the time to donate blood.”
This year's theme for Crenshaw County's Relay for Life is “Rocking and Rolling for a Cure.”
The Relay is scheduled for this Friday, April 27, at E.L. Turner Park in Luverne. Opening ceremonies begin at 6 p.m. After the survivors are recognized, each team will participate in a parade. Special entertainment and activites for the evening areplanned.
