Late run lifts Braves over Yankees

Dalton Weeks scored the winning run in the bottom of the fifth inning Thursday to lift the Braves over the Yankees in Dixie Minors action, 7-6.

Offensively for the Braves (5-1), Draklin Scoggins, Anthony Dunbar, Price Jones, Zane Hall, Will Petty, Rashad Gentry and Weeks each scored a run in the win.

For the Yankees (2-3), Barrett Bush was the leading hitting, going 2-for-2 with a run scored.

Cole Davis was next for the Yankees, finishing 1-for-2 with a run scored, while Donte Lee, C.J. Savage, Clay McMeans and Curt Davis each scored a run.

The Braves will take on the Orioles Monday at 6 p.m., while the Yankees will take on the Red Sox at 7:30 p.m.

Red Sox 12, Indians 2

The Red Sox scored eight runs in the third inning Thursday, which proved to be enough as they earned the victory over the Indians, 12-2.

Ryan Burkett was the leading hitter for the Red Sox (5-1), finishing 3-for-4 with two runs scored.

Daniel Hall Autrey, Nic Hartley and Justice Taylor were each 2-for-3, including a triple by Taylor in the third, while Drake Cabe the only other hit, finishing 1-for-3 with two runs scored.

Nathan Looney also scored two runs for the Sox while Joseph Peavy and Avery Shipp each scored one in the win.

For the Indians, Deaton Owens and Dalton Hood each scored a run.
