Greenville police are investigating a burglary that occurred in early morning hours Saturday at the YMCA.
An unknown suspect stole $400 in assorted U.S. currency after making entrance into the YMCA by breaking a back window on the facility. Once inside the suspect gained entrance into the office area by breaking out the door window to the administrative area. The front office's wall window was also broken.
Damages were also made to a door lock.
Total damage cost was $235.
Greenville police spokesperson Lt. Anthony Barganier said the case remains under investigation.
The YMCA was last burglarized in July 2007. Then, thieves stole $750 from the same office area.
“It just makes you feel bad,” YMCA Director Amanda Phillips said at the time. “You try to do good in the community and do something positive and this happens.”
