Moody and Armstrong lift Braves over A#039;s; Tesmer and Schofield no-hit Cubs

Stewart Moody and Hunter Armstrong each had a triple Monday to help lift the Braves to victory over the A's in Dixie Boys action, 5-2.

Daniel Frazier and Nathan Branum were both 1-for-3 with a run scored for the Braves (5-1) while Jeremy McGinty, Kendrick Thomas and Moody each scored a run.

For the A's (2-4), Clint Norris was 1-for-2 with a run scored, Trent Norris was 1-for-2 and Jerome Cook scored a run.

The Braves will take on the Red Sox Thursday at 6 p.m., and the A's will take on the Cubs at 7:45 p.m.

Red Sox 15, Cubs 0

Charlie Schofield and Cody Tesmer combined to throw a no-hit shutout Monday as the Red Sox downed the Cubs, 15-0.

Offensively for the Red Sox (5-1), Stephen Till was 4-for-4 with a double and run scored, Todd Burkett was 3-for-3 with four runs scored and a homerun, Gray Vinson was 3-for-3 with three runs scored, Chance Williams was 3-for-4, Jonathan Scott was 2-for-2 with four runs scored, Tesmer was 2-for-2 with a double and two runs scored and Schofield was 2-for-3 with one run scored.

Denorris McPherson and Cedric Searight were the only two Cubs (0-6) to reach base.

The Red Sox will take on the Braves Thursday at 6 p.m., and the Cubs will take on the A's at 7:45 p.m.
