If you are planning to be in town for Memorial Day, the Greenville Lions want to share the holiday with you.
The organization is once again sponsoring their Memorial Day Celebration in Confederate Park next Monday, May 28.
The event kicks off at 10 a.m. with music by Blu Braden. A patriotic ceremony will follow at 11 a.m.
Keynote speaker will be Michael Manasco, Montgomery attorney and legal counsel for Alabama's State Treasurer, Kay Ivey.
“We will also feature patriotic music, the playing of ‘Taps,' and an event we added last year, the veterans' ‘Walk of Honor.' We encourage all veterans and their families to attend,” said co-organizer Herbert Morton.
Following the ceremony, a picnic lunch will be served in the park, courtesy of the Greenville Wal-Mart Super Center and prepared and served by Lions volunteers. – Angie Long
