Cardinals drop back-to-back games

Devin Bonner scored the winning run May 29 as the Pirates slipped by the Cardinals for the Georgiana Parks and Rec. Dixie Youth victory, 4-3.

Offensively for the Pirates, Bonner had a hit and scored two runs, Seth Kelley had a hit and Richard Boggan and Jacquez Payton each scored a run.

For the Cardinals, Matt Lewis was 2-for-3 with a triple and a run scored, Zack Compton was 1-for-2 with a triple and a run scored and Rodney Cheatham also had a hit in the fourth inning.

The Pirates will take on the Braves Thursday at 6 p.m., and the Cardinals will take on the Braves at 7 p.m.

Braves 13, Cardinals 4

Keondra Peterson was 3-for-3 with a homerun, two doubles and three runs scored May 29 as the Braves took down the Cardinals, 13-4.

At the plate for the Braves, Hunter Smith had a double and scored two runs, Chance House and Cory Hall each scored two runs and Jay Williams, Matt Colvin, Zack Gaston and Andy Colvin.

For the Cardinals, Matt Lewis, Zack Compton, Rakeem Hugler and Brandon Oikle each scored a run.

The Braves will take on the Pirates Thursday at 6 p.m., and then the Cardinals at 7 p.m.
