Pirates edge Mets by one; Giants slip by Rangers

Kobe Bowen scored three runs Thursday to help spark the Pirates to the close Mite league victory over the Mets, 11-10.
At the plate for the Pirates (2-8), Bowen scored three runs, Victor Powell and Mason Keen each scored two runs and Tanner Cartwright, Tyler Powell, Logan Vickery and Clay Newton each scored once.
For the Mets (0-9), Sullivan Harold and Sidaryus Harris each scored three runs while Blake Anthony, Sam Bowen, Conner Price and Clay Thompson each scored once.
The Pirates will take on the Giants Monday at 7 p.m., on Dunbar 1 while the Mets will take on the Rangers at 6 p.m., on Dunbar 2.
Giants 19, White Sox 17
The Giants batted around and scored nine runs in the first inning Thursday and then held off a late charge by the White Sox to secure the win, 19-17.
Offensively for the Giants (7-1), Nathan Scoggins and Kyler Weeks each scored three runs, Malik Bunch, Chase Mansmann, Rodney Davidson, Monkevious Bradley, Raven Moody and Warren Matthews each scored twice and Trey Johnson scored once in the win.
For the White Sox (6-3), Brandon White, Anthony Sellers, Skilar Moorer, Benjamin Gafford, Brian Hill and Jarrod Johnson each scored twice and Ryan Davis, Taylor Thomas, Trevor Langford, Tyler Owens and Jacob Till each scored once.
The Giants will take on the Pirates Monday at 7 p.m., on Dunbar 1 while the White Sox will take on the Yankees at 6 p.m., on Dunbar 1.
Yankees 24, Rangers 11,
Derius Mitchell and Jeffrey Tillery each scored four runs Thursday as the Yankees cruised to victory over the Rangers, 24-11.
At the plate for the Yankees (7-1), Mitchell and Tillery scored four runs apiece, Austin Nichols, Tyriek McCall and Garrett Till each scored three runs, John Kelly, Mac Thomas and Joseph Tice each scored twice and Kaleb Rinehart scored once in the win.
For the Rangers (3-5), Tripp Richardson, Luke Taylor and Daniel McKeown each scored twice and Dedric Owens, Bryan Folds, Tyler Stone, Blake Burrage and Ryan Miller each scored once.
The Yankees will take on the White Sox Monday at 6 p.m., on Dunbar 1 and the Rangers will take on the Mets at 6 p.m., on Dunbar 2.
