Greenville All-Star teams flawless over the weekend

The Greenville Dixie Boys, Minors, Youth and Ponytails baseball and softball teams went undefeated over the weekend during All-Star sub-district play.

Here are the results:

Dixie Boys

Greenville 10, Luverne 0

Daniel Frazier struck out 14 batters Saturday as the Greenville Dixie Boys All-Star team advanced to the championship game by shutting down and shutting out Luverne, 10-0.

At the plate for Greenville, Todd Burkett was 3-for-4 with a double and three runs scored, Hunter Harrell was 2-for-3 with a triple, two RBIs and a run scored, Daniel Frazier was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored, Jared Edge was 1-for-2 with a run scored, Rush Nimmer was 1-for-3 with a run scored, Jonathan Scott was 1-for-3 and Jeremy McGinty, Kevin Taylor and Nick Davis each scored a run.

Frazier gave up only one hit and one walk in five innings of work.

Greenville 8, Troy 3

Todd Burkett's three-run triple in the sixth inning broke open a one-run game Friday and the Greenville Dixie Boys held on for the first-round victory at home, 8-3.

Despite five errors, the Greenville All-Stars were able to hold their own at the plate, scattering seven hits.

Offensively for Greenville, Burkett was 2-for-4 with a triple, double, four RBIs and two runs scored, Hunter Harrell was 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a run scored, Jonathan Scott was 2-for-3 with an RBI, Daniel Frazier was 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored while Jeremy McGinty, Eli Blackmon, Kevin Taylor and Caleb Parsons each scored a run in the win.

On the mound for Greenville, Burkett pitched a complete game with nine strikeouts, one earned run and no walks while giving up only three hits in the win.

Including the final two outings in the regular season, Burkett has now pitched 18 consecutive innings without giving up a walk.

Dixie Minors

Greenville13, Brundidge 2

Donte Lee and Daniel Hall Autrey were each 2-for-2 Friday as the Greenville Dixie Minors All-Star team advanced to the second round of the sub-district tournament with the 13-2 win over Brundidge.

At the plate for Greenville, Lee was 2-for-2 with a homerun and two runs scored, Autrey was 2-for-2 with a triple and two runs scored, Drake Cabe was 1-for-1 with a triple and two runs scored, Deaton Owens was 1-for-1 with a run scored, Ryan Burkett, Colby Owens, Cody Harrell and Austin Vickery were each 1-for-2 with a run scored while Peyton Frazier and Nick Hartley also each scored a run.

Dixie Youth

Greenville 13, Brundidge 0

Nine Greenville batters had at least one hit Saturday as the Dixie Youth All-Star team advanced to the championship game with the win over Brundidge, 13-0.

Chase Whiddon was the leading hitter for Greenville with two hits while Chip Taylor, Ryan Taylor, Toby King, Cade Tillery, Connally Walters, David Miller, Andy Burns and Wilson Lowe had one hit apiece.

On the mound for Greenville, Chip Taylor earned the win and struck out four batters while Toby King finished off the last two innings and gave up only one hit.

Greenville 9, Luverne 8

Cade Tillery pitched a complete game, struck out 13 batters and gave up only four hits Friday as the Greenville Dixie Youth held on for the close win over Luverne, 9-7.

Offensively for Greenville, Connally Walters had two hits, including a three-run homerun, while Toby King, Cade Tillery, Dillon Jones, Chase Whiddon, David Miller and John Dunn each had a hit.
