Dixie Boys, Youth and Minors All-Star teams advance to district

The Greenville Parks and Recreation Department Dixie Boys, Minors and Youth baseball teams proudly represented their home city this week by advancing to the district tournaments.
Here are the results from each league:
Dixie Boys
Greenville 12, Troy 8
Daniel Frazier knocked a first-inning, two-run homerun Tuesday as the Greenville Dixie Boys All-Star team took an early advantage against Troy in the championship game and never looked back en route to victory, 12-8.
Offensively for Greenville, Rush Nimmer was 2-3 with two runs scored, Frazier was 2-for-4 with a homerun and two runs scored, Todd Burkett was 2-for-5 with a run scored, Nick Davis was 1-for-1 with a run scored, Caleb Parsons was 1-for-2 with two runs scored, Hunter Harrell was 1-for-3 with two runs scored, Jonathan Scott was 1-for-3, Jared Edge was 1-for-4 with a run scored and Kevin Taylor scored a run.
For the tournament, Burkett and Harrell each batted above .500, Frazier and Scott each batted above .400 and Nimmer batted above .300.
On the mound against Troy, Frazier picked up the win and struck out 11 batters while Burkett picked up the save.
The Dixie Boys will now travel to Eufaula for the district tournament and will take on the winner of the Eufaula-Geneva game Friday.
Dixie Youth
Greenville 4, Luverne 3
Toby King struck out 14 Luverne batters Tuesday as the Greenville Dixie Youth All-Star team held on for the close victory in the sub-district championship game, 4-3.
At the plate for Greenville, John Dunn had a triple, King had two hits and Harper Vinson, David Miller and Wilson Lowe each had one.
King earned the win for Greenville while giving up only four hits.
Cade Tillery picked up the save.
The Dixie Youth will now travel to New Brockton for the district tournament and will take on Elba Friday.
Dixie Minors
Troy 16, Greenville 7
Despite falling to Troy 16-7 in the championship game Tuesday, the Greenville Dixie Minors will go on to the district tournament as both the first and second place teams advance to the next round.
Offensively for Greenville, Austin Vickery was 2-2 with a double and a run scored, Colby Booker was 1-for-2, Drake Cabe scored two runs and Daniel Hall Autrey, Payton Frazier, Donte Lee and Cody Harrell each scored once.
