Two Crenshaw County men were killed in a car accident last Saturday evening that occurred near Goshen.
Kendrick O'Neal “Kenny” Weaver, 18, of Luverne, and Michael Wade Griffin, 20, of Goshen, were killed around 5:20 p.m. in a one-vehicle accident that occurred about five miles south of Troy on County Road 2214.
According to a report released by the Alabama State Troopers' office in Dothan, Weaver was driving a 1986 Chevrolet S-10 truck, and Griffin was his passenger. Griffin was thrown from the vehicle during the accident.
Both men were transported to the Troy Regional Hospital.
Weaver had been a student at Luverne High School.
“Anytime you lose someone so young, it is a tragedy,” Holley Lester, an LHS teacher, said.
Weaver is the son of Mary and John Weaver III of Luverne, and Donna and Clifton Howitz of Wetumpka.
The accident is still under investigation by the State Troopers' office.
