Mrs. Grace Gipson Thompson, a lifelong resident of Crenshaw County, celebrated her 100th year birthday on July 7, 2007. Mrs. Thompson was the wife of Charles Lowell Thompson who has been deceased since 1982.

She lived most of her adult life at Fullers Crossroads.

A birthday party was hosted in the Luverne Nursing Home's sunroom.

Guests included her two daughters,

Marian Thompson Ballard of Brewton, and Virginia Thompson Shiver who is temporarily living in Crenshaw County.

Other guests included Mrs. Thompson's younger sister, Florence Gipson Vann of Montgomery;

Jean Gipson Ryan of Montgomery;

Leland Evans of the Luverne area; Faye Harbin of Luverne; granddaughter Atrica Ballard Warr of Tallahassee, Florida; grandson Warren Ballard; and grandson Travis Charles Ballard and his wife, Lana Ballard; and Todd Ballard of Atlanta, Georgia.
