Fighting for the playoffs

This Friday night should be a doozy.
Everyone in the county is playing for something.
Last week, we had some beautiful football weather, and hopefully it’ll continue this week for more exciting football action.
Carroll at Greenville
The Tigers exploded on Tallassee last week, which I didn’t expect.
This week the Tigers get Carroll, which hasn’t had the best season, but they’ve been competitive.
The Tigers need this game to be in the playoffs, and it helps that they’ll be at home

Cottage Hill at Fort Dale
This game will truly be a tough one for Fort Dale.
After a blowout loss to Glenwood, the Eagles rebounded strongly against Morgan.
Injuries are a concern, but I think the Eagles will give Cottage Hill all they can handle.
My pick is Fort Dale in a close one.
Fort Dale 28, Cottage Hill 24
Providence Christian at McKenzie
Last week was devastating for McKenzie, and it was more the loss of key players than the 57-6 on the scoreboard.
The Tigers are tied with Providence in the region, and we’ll have to see how they respond this week.
I think it’ll be too much of a loss to recover from for McKenzie.
Hopefully, it won’t be a blowout like last week, but I believe McKenzie will still be on the losing end of the deal.
Providence Christian 33, McKenzie 22
Georgiana at Keith
With a win, Georgiana can clinch homefield advantage.
The Panthers played very well against Flomaton, and I think that trend will continue against a Keith team that has struggled at times this year.
Look for the first round of the playoffs to be in Georgiana.
Georgiana 25, Keith 18
Current high school record:
18-9
