Mary McGough Hudson

Mary McGough Hudson died June 15, 2008. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. June 17 from the Spring Creek Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery with Harrison Funeral Home directing.
The service was conducted by Brother Allen Wynn and Brother Joe Leverette. Pallbearers were Paul Best, Billy Joe Evans, Marvin Hartley, Greg Hartley, Sherill Nichols, and Donnie Spann. Honorary pallbearers were Emmit Bell and Earnest Hudson.
Mrs. Hudson was born on March 29, 1927, only child of the late Ruben and Pearl McGough.
Raised in the New Ebenezer community in Crenshaw County, she attended New Ebenezer Baptist Church and Highland Home School. On January 23, 1944, she married Elisha Hudson who passed away on May 3, 2002. At the time of her marriage, she moved to the Danielville and Spring Creek communities and lived there until her death. She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn (Larry) Sutherland of Montgomery and Joan (Ronnie) McGough of Honoraville; grandchildren Reba (Phillip) Stabler, Roger Sutherland, Ron (Tina) McGough and Benjamin McGough; four great-grandchildren Treyton, Reagan and Natalie McGough and Mary-Austin Stabler.
Mary was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother, known to her family as Mother, Mama, Grandmother and Queen. She loved the Lord and loved attending the church and church functions. She accepted the Lord as her personal Savior as a youth at New Ebenezer Baptist Church. At her death, she was a member of the Spring Creek Baptist Church and a member of the Spring Creek Women’s Club. She loved housework, cooking, visiting with friends and shopping along with her family and friends.
