John M. (Iron Jaw) Owens, 96, died Sunday, August 17, 2008 at Crowne Health Care. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, August 21, from Hudson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lucious Vaughn officiating. Burial followed in Magnolia Cemetery with Hudson Funeral Services directing.

He was formerly a member of the Original Queen Cab Company and co-founder of Dependable Cab Company.

He worked with Loveless Undertaking (Funeral Home) Company between 1930 and 1940.

Mr. Owens leaves to cherish his memories a daughter, Faye (James) Washington; nephew, Eugene (Clara) Hudson; a very close friend, Lucy F. Culver, other relatives and friends.
