John Jackson

John Lamar Jackson, 68, passed away Thurs., Sept. 4, 2008, at his residence in Florala.
Funeral services will be held Sun., Sept. 7, 2008, at the Paxton Assembly of God Church with the Revs. Ronnie Sexton and William Aplin officiating. Interment will follow in the Florala Alabama Greenwood Cemetery.
Jackson was born Feb. 26, 1940, in Florala, to the late E.G. Jackson and Ella Presley Jackson. He attended school in Florala and graduated from Florala High School, where he was a member of the Florala Wildcat football team. He served in the U.S. Army and was later employed at Eglin Air Force Base Commissary as a butcher until he retired.
Survivors include wife, Christine Jackson of Florala; daughter, Janet L. Wise of Samson; two sons, John L. Jackson Jr. and Joseph L. Jackson, both of Goshen; two stepsons, Lee John Cooke of Cheshire, England, and Kristian M. Cooke of Andalusia; and five grandchildren
