Affectionately called “Granny Jean”, she was a faithful servant of God who thrived on teaching and serving others. Jean was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her love for the Lord and for her family was inspiring to many.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney (Beth) Rabren and Marcus (Vickie) Rabren, both of Brazoria; sister, Helen Weant of Andalusia; grandchildren, David and Gina Chandler, Randy and Kim Peck, Brandi Rabren, John and Jenny Trimble and Michelle Drury; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Foster and Ethel King; husband, Heflin Rabren; brothers, Ridith, Julian and Lafitte King; and sisters, Edith Bozeman, Sybil King and Jane Fuqua.
Her children rise up and bless her; Her husband also, and he praises her, saying, “Many daughters have done nobly, but you excel them all. Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised. Give her the product of her hands, and let her works praise her in the gates.” Proverbs 31:28-31
