A one-vehicle accident claimed the life of an Andalusia man Monday and sent his wife to a local hospital.

A spokesman for the Alabama State Troopers said the accident occurred at 10:55 a.m. on County Road 77, 12 miles northeast of Andalusia.

Robert Gerald Lindgren, 79, was fatally injured when the 1994 Jeep he was driving left the roadway. His wife, 79-year-old Doris Lindgren, was critically injured and transported by ambulance to Andalusia Regional Hospital by Advanced EMS.
