An Evergreen man has died as the result of a one-vehicle accident near Gantt Monday.

An Alabama State Trooper spokesperson said the accident, which occurred at 6:30 p.m. on U.S. Hwy. 29 near the V.F.W., claimed the life of 29-year-old James Robert Brooks.

Reports indicate Brooks was fatally injured when the 1999 Chevrolet Blazer he was driving left the roadway and overturned numerous times. Brooks was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.

No other details surrounding the accident were available as it is currently under investigation by the Alabama State Troopers.
