Dr. Scott Beals has announced he is opening a dermatology practice in Andalusia.

Beals, who currently practices at Dermatology Surgery Center in Niceville, Fla., specializes in skin cancer surgeries, but also offers cosmetic procedures including Botox Cosmetic, Restylane and multiple laser treatments. All of his surgeries are outpatient.

Beals is a board certified dermatologist who completed his dermatology specialty training at the University of Texas. He graduated summa cum laude from medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine in 1994, where he achieved academic honors, earning membership in Psi Sigma Alpha. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology, fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, Florida Osteopathic Medical Association and numerous other professional organizations.

A native of Jamestown, N.Y., Beals graduated with honors from the University of Oklahoma in 1986.

While earning his undergraduate degree in biomedical science, he played collegiate baseball, going on to sign and play with the Cincinnati Reds organization. Beals went on to complete a 15-year career with the U.S. Air Force, where he practiced as a family physician and director of multiple medical clinics.
