Police are searching for clues in the disappearance of a Goshen teen whose last known destination was Andalusia.
Katie Kimbrell, 15, has been missing from her Goshen home since last Thursday after arguing with her parents about a boy she was seeing.
Kimbrell’s mother, Jeannie, said her daughter had made arrangements to meet her 17-year-old boyfriend – who currently resides in Andalusia – at nearby railroad tracks at midnight Thursday. She posted her plans to meet the young man on her MySpace page and asked a girlfriend to notify the young man of the planned rendezvous.
Kimbrell said the young man has informed both law enforcement and her family that he did not meet Katie at the railroad tracks and has not heard from her since last Thursday.
Family members fear if he did not meet Katie, a stranger might have picked her up.
“That’s our biggest fear, that someone has taken her,” Mrs. Kimbrell said. “Katie is a very quiet, shy girl. We don’t know if she was ever (in Andalusia), but someone may have seen her.
“I don’t know where she is,” she said. “We just want her to come home.”
The missing girl is described as 5 feet 2 inches tall and approximately 110 pounds with long brown hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a grey and black-striped hoodie and blue jeans.
The case is currently under investigation by the Pike County Sheriff’s Department, the Andalusia Police Department and the Pike County District Attorney’s Office.
