Andalusia Ballet does its city proud

I write today in support of the outstanding Andalusia Ballet Company, directed by the superb Meryane Martin Murphy. As an ever-moving military family with a dancer, it can be difficult to find a studio with both hands-on-instruction and the dreams and goals of larger programs. My wife and I are both impressed and grateful that such a company is relatively close to our home in Enterprise. You are a fortunate lot in Andalusia; we know several families that commute from Dothan, Ozark, Brewton, and Evergreen to have their children learn and grow in your first-rate institution.

Not only do our children benefit from this endeavor, but so does your lovely city. I’m sure most of the city’s eateries, clothing stores, and gas stations can attest to the additional business that comes by way of the very families I mention above. From having attended the company productions over the last five years, I know many of Andalusia’s citizens also enjoy the art and culture brought forward from the dancers and their skilled instructors. If you haven’t had the opportunity lately, I would encourage all to attend the upcoming production of Sleeping Beauty, performed in cooperation with the Montgomery Ballet. Mark your calendars for the first weekend in March!

Finally, as you may be aware, the Company is growing and with this growth comes a new facility. I encourage all to support this important growth through your continued generosities of attendance, donations and volunteerism.

Sincerely,

Col. Jeffrey T. Kappenman
