Mrs. Loraine Spears Smith, 89, of Andalusia, died Sat., Jan. 17, 2009, in a local hospital. Funeral services were Tuesday at Foreman Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Pritchett officiating. Interment followed at Mt. Carmel cemetery.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Smith; grandson, Wayne Hester; and three sons-in-law, Gene Hester, James Tyree, and Lamar Barton.
Mrs. Smith is survived by four daughters, Gwendolyn Hester, Gloria Tyree, Ann (Herman) Earnest, and Brenda (Jim) Syler, all of Andalusia; seven grandchildren, Ronald (Sandy) Hester, Sherrie (Bryan) Foster, Linda Smallridge, Robbie (Mindy) Barton, Michael (April) Barton, David (Jessica) Stephens, Keith Stephens; 10 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Robbie Barton, Michael Barton, Ronald Hester, Bryan Foster, David Stephens, Brandon Stephens and Kyle Stephens.
