Marvin’s coming to Andalusia

Andalusia Mayor Earl Johnson announced at a Wednesday press conference that Andalusia will soon be home to Marvin’s Building Materials and Home Center. The home improvement center will be located in the old Wal-Mart building on the west bypass, next to the future home of Tractor Supply Co.

According to the company’s Web site, Marvin’s first store opened in Gadsden, Ala., in 1945, and the company is now based in Leeds, outside of Birmingham. The company currently has 28 stores in Alabama, Mississippi and Florida.
