REGINA OWENS FISHER
Mrs. Regina Owens Fisher, 76, of Andalusia, died Thurs., Feb. 19, 2009, at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Sat., Feb. 21, 2009, at 10 a.m. from the First United Methodist Church in Andalusia. The Rev. Tim Trent will officiate. Interment will be in the Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.
A native of South Carolina, Mrs. Fisher had lived in Andalusia with her family since 1967. She taught school at Straughn School for 28 years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Andalusia for more than 41 years. Mrs. Fisher was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Edward Owens, and her brother, Samuel Edward Owens Jr.
Mrs. Fisher is survived by her husband of 52 years, Ward Fisher; two daughters, Jenny and husband John Romine of Norcross, Ga., and Elizabeth Fisher of Atlanta, Ga.; two grandchildren, Matthew and Nicholas Romine of Norcross, Ga; brothers, Wayne (Frances) Owens of Hemingway, S.C., Burnett (Geraldine) Owens of Conway, S.C., Sherold (Karen) Owens of Hemingway, S.C.; sisters, Priscilla (John) Youngblood of Little Rock, Ark., Ednetta (Ronnie) Scott and Gwendolyn (Marshall) Eady of Hemingway, S.C.
Pallbearers will be Bill Hamiter, Bill Meeks, Jurrell Davis, Bob Roland, Charlie Cope, and Fred Rhinehardt.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund at P.O. Box 1066, Andalusia, AL 36420.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. tonight at Foreman’s.
