Mrs. Arthenia “Bobbie” Douglas, 93, passed away Thurs., Feb. 19, 2009.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Boles and the Rev. Randall Jackson officiating.
The family will receive friends tonight from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Keahey Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers or plants, the family asks that donations be made to Comfort Care Hospice at 1805-3 East Three Notch, Andalusia, AL 36421, or the Alabama Baptist Children’s Homes and Family Ministries at P.O. Box 361767, Birmingham, AL 35236-1767.
She is survived by her sons, William Carlton “Bill” Cross Sr. and wife, Barbara Williams Cross, of Andalusia and John Parton “Carty” Cross and wife, Gloria Brady-Cross of Lafayette, La.; daughter-in-law, Charlotte Cross of Loango; former daughter-in-law, Diane Bowen of Andalusia; grandsons, Jack Allen Cross III, James Cross, Jeffery Cross, Steven Cross, Larry Cross, Wesley Douglas Cross, William Carlton “Carl” Cross Jr., Michael T. Parrie Jr. and Zane F. Parrie; granddaughters, Debra Ann Hawkins, Becky Lynn Stanisch, Cynthia Dawn Cross, Penny Marie Broome, Robin Melissa Randell, Angela Teresa Parker and Lisa Teel; 23 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter and a multitude of nieces, nephews and cousins with a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be announced at a later date.
The family would like to thank Comfort Care Hospice for their dedication and genuine concern in providing ease and comfort to their loved one in her time of need as she spent her last days on this Earth.
As a member of Pleasant Home Baptist Church, Bobbie will be interred in the Pleasant Home Baptist Church Cemetery. She attended Conecuh River Baptist Church in her later years.
