Louise Poppell

Mrs. Louise T. Poppell, age 91, of Andalusia formerly of Albany, Ga., died Thurs., April 2, 2009, in an Andalusia nursing home.
She was born March 15, 1918, in Pike County near Troy. She graduated from high school in Union Springs and attended Freeman Business College in Albany, Ga., where she lived and retired from American General Life Insurance Company in 1978.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Albany where she had served on the Administrative Board from time to time; she had been honored with a life membership in the United Methodist Women’s Association and was a member of the Eleanor Hawk Sunday school class. She was also a member of the Gold Star Wives of America.
Graveside Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time) today, Sat., April 4, at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Albany, Ga., with Dr. Don Kea officiating. The family will receive friends at the First United Methodist Church in Albany from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. EST today.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the charity of ones choice.
She is survived by her sister, Mildred Mack of Opp; a stepson, James B. Poppell III of Richmond, Va.; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
