The Andalusia Police Department’s Relay for Life fundraiser “Arrest a Friend” was a resounding success, Chief Wilbur Williams said Wednesday.

“Tremendous, just tremendous,” he said. “Everyone who volunteered and participated had a good time. The people enjoyed it and it was great for the APD to interact with the public on such a positive note.”

The event raised $13,165 for the Covington County Relay for Life, which is scheduled for May 8 at the Kiwanis Fairgrounds. Relay for Life is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.
