A six-month undercover drug investigation led to the arrest of five suspected drug dealers Thursday by 22nd Circuit Drug Task Force agents.

“These arrests are for nine counts of distribution of a controlled substance from dealers in the Andalusia area,” said DTF agent Paul Hudson. “This is what we would call a round-up and these arrests stem from the distribution of controlled substances ranging from prescription pills to marijuana and cocaine.

“I hope that all the citizens that have called and complained about the drug dealers in their neighborhoods see that the Drug Task Force is working to eliminate the problems they are having,” Hudson said. “We are always working to put drug dealers in jail.”

Hudson said reports of suspected drug activity in local neighborhoods are taken very seriously and are investigated.

“There were five people arrested – one of which was for four counts of distribution,” he said. “We thank the community members that call in with these reports of drug activity throughout the county. It helps us focus on the problem areas and rid them of the dealers that are selling drugs.”

Arrested were:

Mary Davis Ware, 56, on four counts of distribution. Bond was set at $400,000.

Nelson J. Quesada, 51, on one count of distribution of a controlled substance. Bond was set at $100,000.

Eddie Parker Jr., 32, on two counts of distribution of a controlled substance. Bond was set at $200,000.

Robert Curry, 69, on one count of distribution of a controlled substance. Bond was set at $100,000.

Ashun James, 31, on one count of distribution of a controlled substance. Bond was set at $100,000.

More arrests are expected to follow, Hudson said.
