The Opp Lady Bobcats had a bad start at the Pleasant Home Invitational softball tournament Friday night, losing to Baker 3-1 and Flomaton 6-2.
Opp (11-8, 3-2 in Class 4A, Area 2) will play Pleasant Home today at 9 a.m. in the first game of the single elimination round.
Opp coach Scott Gafford said it was a matter of getting the right amount of hits in the first game.
“We played pretty good defensively, but we just didn’t get enough hits in the first game,” Gafford said. “The second game was basically about the same. We just had one bad inning.”
Gafford said the game plan would remain the same when facing Pleasant Home today.
“We probably are not going to do a whole lot different,” he said. “We have to have somebody step in and hit the ball and keep us in the game.”
The Lady Bobcats will play Pleasant Home at 9 a.m. today in the first round of single elimination.
Straughn will play the winner of the J.U. Blacksher-Flomaton at 1:30 p.m.
All games will be played on the Pleasant Home field.
