Avery King

Avery Sherman King, a resident of Pinckard, Ala., died Thurs., April 9, 2009, at Flowers Hospital following a brief illness. He was 71.
Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Wed., April 15, at Sunset Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. King was born Oct. 27, 1937, in Covington County, and he resided the early years of his life in Andalusia. Mr. King was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was employed with Hayes International/Pemco in Napier Field for 42 years prior to his retirement in 2000. Mr. King lived in Dothan for several years before moving to Pinckard in 2007.
Survivors include his mother, Cora Lee Adams of Andalusia; two brothers, Jim King and Tony King, both of Andalusia; a very special friend, Dot Sego of Pinckard, and her children, Ricky Sego of Eufaula, and Mickey Sego of Taylor, Ala.; and a nephew, Mark King of Houston, Texas.
