Covington County citizens who wish to give blood during the month of April will have several different opportunities to do so.

During the month of April, every presenting volunteer donor at an American Red Cross blood drive or donor center will be entered into a regional drawing for a cruise for two as part of the “Save a Life and Sail the Seas” promotion. All presenting volunteer donors will also receive a Red Cross t-shirt.

Blood drives planned for Covington County in the month of April include:

Tues., April 28 — Andalusia High School, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Thurs., April 30 — Pleasant Home School, noon to 5 p.m.

To give blood, one must weigh at least 110 pounds, be at least 17 years old, and be in general good health.
