Emergency personnel had to use the Jaws of Life to rescue two women trapped in an Astro van after the van collided with a delivery truck.

The two-vehicle wreck occurred at the intersection of River Falls Street and the bypass. Witnesses at the scene said the delivery truck was travelling west and turning on to River Falls Street when it collided with the van, which was travelling east on the bypass.

One of the women was expected to be airlifted to Pensacola. The driver of the truck was not injured.

The identities of the victims had not been released when The Star-News went to press last night.
