Thanks for making day special for vet

On May 2, my dad, Haskew Middleton of Atmore, was treated to a very special trip to Washington, D.C., as part of the Covington Region Honor Flight program. It was a real adventure for him to take part in this wonderful activity designed to enable World War II veterans to see the memorial built in their honor, as well as other sights and activities that recognize our veterans’ service to their country.

Even at age 88, my dad serves as the daily caregiver for my mom, who is a stroke victim. This trip provided him with many memories and stories to share with family and friends for some time to come. In short, a special day for a very special man.

So, on behalf of my family, I wanted to express our appreciation to Tonitta Sauls, President of the Covington Region Honor Flight Board of Directors, and all its members and volunteers, for making this experience possible for him and dozens of others last week. We certainly will remember the Honor Flight program in our charitable giving, and we hope others will, too.
