Mrs. Marjorie Ammons Findley, 85, of Brooklyn, died Fri., May 15, 2009, in the Andalusia Manor.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Joe Sanders Findley Jr., and four children, Jeanette, Joe Jr., Steve and Mike.
After retirement from Amoco (Shaw Industries), she worked diligently in her flower gardens until her recent illness. She was a member of the Brookly Order of the Eastern Star for 30 years and instrumental in the organization of the Brooklyn Volunteer Fire Department, where her husband served as chief for many years.
Survivors include her son, Larry Findley of Brooklyn; grandchildren, Amy, Melissa, Paul, John, Robert and Michelle; seven great grandchildren, and her sister, Ophelia Smith of Andalusia
On Mon., May 18, services were held at the Pleasant Home Baptist Church with the Rev. Fred Kelley officiating. Burial followed in Pleasant Home Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Foreman Funeral Home.
