Millard Hart

Millard Hart, 80, passed away Wed., May 20, 2009, in Florala.
A native of Paxton, Fla., he was the son of the late Burie and Sue Faye Smith Hart. He served in the U.S. Army and was employed as an iron caster in the manufacturing of train wheels at Griffin Wheel Company in Bessemer.
He became a member of the Chapel Hill Baptist Church and later Red Oak Baptist Church, where he served as an usher, custodian and handled grounds maintenance. He enjoyed attending the brotherhood breakfast at the church.
He was a member of the Flint Hill Masonic Lodge 810F&M of Bessemer.
Millard enjoyed fishing and hunting; watching Alabama football and Atlanta Braves baseball.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Clinton George Hart, Ralph Hart, Rufus Hart and Harold Hart; his sisters, Mary Alice Hart Hudson and Sallie Hart Barnes; grandsons, Donald Dewayne Brooks and Jerry Dale Watson.
Survivors are his wife, Sallie Pearl Brooks Hart of Pensacola, Fla.; daughters, Martha Hart McCullars of Ethelsville, Ala., Betty Joyce Gonzales and husband Pedro of Pensacola, Fla.; son, Billy Don Brooks and wife Lessie of Cantonment, Fla.; brothers, Charles Grady Hart and wife Mildred of Odenville, Ala., Johnny Hart and wife Dorothy of Winter Haven, Fla.; sisters, Mary Frances Courtney and husband William of Paxton, Fla., and Gracie Nell Gillman of Pace, Fla.; grandchildren, Jamie Michelle Bishop and husband Eddie, James Darin Watson and wife Patricia, Jason Daryl Watson and wife Janice, Donna S. Brooks Rayborn and husband Michael and Daniel Brooks; great grandchildren, Anthony Edward Bishop, Rachael Nicole and Matthew Watson; four great great grandchildren, Olivia, Billy Don Brooks, Billy Joe Brooks and Shawn Michael Brooks, and a host of nieces and nephews.
