This year’s “Art Off the Wall,” the annual fund-raiser for the Lower Alabama Arts Coalition and the Covington Arts Council, is set for June 6 at the Country Club of Andalusia.
The evening begins at 6:30 with a wine and cheese social hour and a silent auction of works donated by local artists. Among those who have donated art for the silent auction are Roger Powell, Dot Burkett, Curtis Simpson, Jo Kelley, Jessica Tyler, Mary Lynn Thorington, Katherine Grantham, Tonya Davis, Pam Brannon, Vicki Popwell, Robert Evers, Paul Windham, Misti Purvis, Andrew Urquhart, Kim Baumgartner, Kyle Baumgartner, Bob Brooks, Tara Dalton, Ryan Doty and Barbara Nichols.
“We have originals, prints and photographs,” LAAC president Barbara Tyler said.
“Patrons get great deals on original art in our silent auction pieces.”
At 7:30 p.m., guests will enjoy a surf and turf dinner, followed by live entertainment coordinated by Paula Harr. Mark Ingram will emcee, and entertainers include Justin Schuver, Angela Sanders, Angie Sasser, Ronda Ricks and Kay Ingram.
Another highlight will be LAAC’s presentation of a painting of the first home built by Covington County Habitat for Humanity. LAAC commissioned the painting for the first Habitat family. When Powell delivered it, he donated the work.
Sponsorships are $200 and general admission tickets are $35. Tickets are available at LAAC, 51 E. Three Notch St., Ansley Place, and Brooks Hardware.
