Frances Lorton

Frances P. Lorton, 89, of Troy, Ohio, passed away at 10:26 a.m. on Wed., July 15, 2009, at Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy, Ohio.
She was born on July 10, 1920, in River Falls to the late Henry W. and Mamie (Carter) Peacock. Frances married Ralph E. Lorton in 1945, and he preceded her in death on August 19, 1981.
She is survived by her son, Mike Lorton of Atlanta, Ga.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Robert Jones of Troy, Ohio, and Carol and George Ewing of Tipp City, Ohio; three grandchildren, April Sapp (Bill) of Springfield, Ohio, Shelly Jones (fiancé, Steve Fidler) of Troy, Ohio, and Trenton Jones (Melinda) of Troy, Ohio; six great-grandchildren, Heather and Brandon Sapp, Dylan Taylor, Miranda Sharp, Michaela Welbaum, and Elizabeth Jones; sister, Grace Franklin of Andalusia, and cousin, Jacqueline Johnson of Troy, Ohio.
Frances was a 1938 graduate of Andalusia High School and attended business college for two years.
She retired as a clerk from Montgomery Ward in Troy, Ohio. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Troy, Ohio.
The funeral service was held at 10 a.m. on Fri., July 17, at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Pastor Ric Barnes officiating. The visitation was held at the funeral home on Thurs., July 16. Interment took place at Riverside Cemetery in Troy, Ohio.
