Mr. Ollie Sylvester Petty, 89, of Andalusia, died Tues., Aug. 4, 2009, in a local hospital.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thurs., Aug. 6, at Foreman Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Pritchett officiating. Interment will be 1:30 p.m. Sat., August 8, at Oak Noll Memorial Gardens in Rome, Ga., with the Rev. Mike Garrett and the Rev. Roger Canuel officiating.
Mr. Petty was retired from Fox Manufacturing Co and a former member of Dykes Creek Baptist Church. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Andalusia.
Mr. Petty is survived by his wife, Ruby C. Petty of Andalusia; one daughter, Margaret (Melvin) Grogan of Rome, Ga.; step-children, Winston (June) Blackmon and Bobbie (Byron) Blackmon; grandchildren, Trina (Kimsey) Dean, Nancy (Ron) Creel, Doug Grogan, Derek (Tracy) Blackmon, Kevin Blackmon, Joe Dozier and Todd Dozier, and five great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Donald Raley, Mark Grogan, Chad Grogan, Boyd Grogan, Jimmy Kerce and Wendell Fincher.
