Diane Gantt

Diane Jones Gantt, 64, of 564 McCracken Farm Road, Waynesville, N.C., died on Thurs., Aug. 6, 2009, at her residence.
Born in Sydney, Australia, she had lived in Haywood County, N.C., since 1996. She was the daughter of Evelyn Mary Louise Jones and the late Henry Brogden Jones. Diane was co-director of the Open Door for four years and loved antiquing and finding hidden treasures. She also loved teaching the Bible and taught many Bible studies throughout her life and spread the word of God and His love to everyone she met. She was a member of Life Church in Hazelwood, N.C.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Oliver Caton Gantt; one son, Caton Gantt and his wife, Cortney, of Hudson, Fla.; two daughters, Kimberly George and her husband, Darin, of Bradenton, Fla., and Whitney Gantt of Clyde, N.C.; five sisters, Marcia Snow, Mary Louise Murphy, Laura Bucher, Debbie Anderson and Pam Hines; two brothers, Robert and Bryan Jones, and five grandchildren, Madison, Gantt, Harrison, Colson and Caton Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Sat., Aug. 8, in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Hensley and the Rev. Bob Dyer officiating. Burial will be at Dawn Memory Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be George and Kyle Gantt, Robert and Bryan Jones, Charles Queener, Bob Anderson, Charles Baiera and Mark Waldroop. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
