Thursday’s lunch hour was filled with heavy rains and lightning that suddenly left lights flickering all over.
Susan Carpenter, county emergency management agency director, said Thursday’s weather was just a “warm up” for today.
“(On Thursday) most those showers moved north of us — luckily,” she said. “However, (today) about 11 a.m. we’re going to see some that are much stronger than (on Thursday). “Predictions show a nice Saturday with a few isolated showers, but Sunday looks wonderful for us,” she said.
The Andalusia Utilities Board reported a few power outages Thursday. However, those issues were quickly resolved and power restored “very quickly.”
