Mildred Prichard

Mildred Prichard. 86, of Pueblo, Colo., died Sat., Aug. 22, 2009, at Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo.
Mildred was born Sept. 22, 1922, in Andalusia to David and Lacy (Black) Rushing. She was married to Brawner Hugh Prichard in Andalusia on Feb. 8, 1941. They moved to Pueblo in 1952.
She is survived by four children, daughters, Mary (Gary) Pedersen of Georgetown, Texas, Ann Campbell of Denver and Patricia Stecklein of Roswell, N.M.; son, Chuck (Jackie Fisher) of Pueblo; seven grandchildren, Gary Pedersen of Geneva, Switzerland, Jon Pedersen of Murrieta, Calif., Kimberly Halsted of Roswell, N.M., Kris Stecklein of Lubbock, Texas, Tracy Campbell of Denver, Colo., Kerry Campbell of Denver and Sean Cambell of Lawton, Okla.; 12 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Nellie Wagner of Miami, Fla., Corene Alcorn of Andaluisa, Orene King of Pittsburg, Minn., and Betty Sue Bell of Navarre, Fla.; and three brothers, Leon Burl Rushing of Andalusia, Lawrence Rushing of Andalusia. and Robert “Bob” Rushing of Many, La., and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mildred was preceded in death by her mother, Lacy Lee (Black) Rushing of Andalusia; father, Thomas McDavid Rushing of Andalusia, Ala.; husband; brother, Leonard L. Rushing of Many, La.; half-brother, Glady Rushing of Vancleave, Miss.; half-sister, Ruby Fergenson of Orlando, Fla.; and son-in-law, Richard Stecklein.
Mildred retired in 1987, after working for 38 years in the dietary department of the Colorado State Hospital. She enjoyed collecting cookbooks, sewing, helping others and sharing her many stories.
Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. today, Sat., Aug. 29, in the Montgomery &Steward Chapel. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Online condolences may be registered at www.MontgomerySteward.com.
