Odell Williams

Funeral services for Odell Williams, 92, of Tchula, Miss., were held Oct. 31, 2009, at Sisco Funeral Home Chapel in Pea Ridge, Ark.
Mr. Williams died at home Thursday following an extended illness.
Mr. Williams, a former resident of Andalusia, was a retired executive organizer for Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America and before that was employed at Alatex.
He was born on April 22, 1917, in Covington County where he and his late wife of 54 years, Ida Mae Williams, lived for many years.
Mr. Williams was an ordained minister, who served as interim pastor of several Southern Baptist churches in Covington County. He also was a member of several gospel quartets, the latest of which was The Old Timers.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Freeman of Tchula, Ark.; two grandsons, Benjamin and Robert Baugh of Springdale, Ark.; one granddaughter, Denise Marshall of Kingston, Jamaica; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Baugh, and great-granddaughter, Avery Baugh.
