Nicholas Charles Jackson, 27, of Tuscaloosa, died Nov. 8, 2009. Visitation will be held tonight from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church with Dr. Tim Lovett officiating. Burial will follow at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park.
He was preceded in death by his aunt, Mandy Burnell; grandfather, John Clinton Worley; and great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Watson Griffin, Charlie and Flora Jackson, Mr. and Mrs. James Bernest Dewrell, and Mr. and Mrs. Clint Worley.
He is survived by his wife, Mizzy Jackson; his parents, Ted and Pam Jackson; his sister, Natalie Hannah (Andrew); his grandparents, Wendy Wells, Gene and Lorene Watson, Jimmy Jackson; an uncle, Tom Burnell; as well as numerous other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Hannah, Chase Malone, Jimmy Hoover, Dr. Harvey Edwards, Deane Rhodes, Dr. Johnny Waits, Rod Wilkin and Dr. Mark Woods. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Joe Wells, Chuck and Jerri Lynn Carlisle, Kerry and Angie Hannah, all friends and neighbors of Grand Arbor, advisors and staff of the Commons North Drive Ameriprise office, the deacons of Calvary Baptist Church, and friends and family who have prayed for him throughout the years.
Nick graduated from the Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts Atlanta in June 2008. He loved to please others with his culinary talents, and he and his wife Mizzy dreamed of one day opening their own restaurant. He was a loving husband, son, brother and grandson. He was always willing to help someone in need and was devoted to those he loved. Nick had a passion and gift for taking care of all types of animals. He also took a great interest in music, movies and computers. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he made a profession of his faith in Jesus Christ at age 10 and renewed his commitment at age 22. He was dearly loved by his family and will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Calvary Baptist Church and the Jimmie Hale Mission.
