The Andalusia Ballet Association invites members of the community to “Nutcracker Sweets” prior to the Christmas parade from 3:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Fri., Dec. 4, in the lobby of the Murphy building on the Court Square.

Characters from The Nutcracker will be on hand for photographs taken against a Nutcracker scene. Vicki Popwell is donating her time to take the pictures, and Rite Aid is donating the printing of the pictures.

Packets are $25 for an 8-by-10, two 5-by-7’s, and four 4-by-6’s. Christmas card packages are $20 and include 20 cards.

They will also have hot chocolate, water and cookies for sale, as well as charm bracelets, Nutcracker T-shirts and tickets for the Andalusia Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker, set for Dec. 12 and 13.

Organizer Kathy McMillan said all of the money raised by the event will go toward the renovation of the historic Church Street School, which will become the home of the Andalusia Ballet. The event is sponsored by the Andalusia Ballet’s junior and senior companies. Joyce Mitchell and Mary Lynn Edgar are chairing the event along with McMillan.
